Flowers with a Light Footprint
It sounds sappy, but Moss Agate was genuinely born out of love—for flowers, for art, for the earth, and for each other. After years in the floral industry, Mailani, (designer and flower whisperer) and her partner Matt, (logistics genius and idea wrangler) saw firsthand the impact that conventional floral practices can have on the environment. So, they decided to do things differently.
We’re a floral subscription service based in Portland and built on a commitment to low-waste and creative freedom. No wasteful packaging. No floral foam. No mass-produced arrangements. Just seasonal blooms, foraged accents, and leftover petals turned into dried goods and beeswax candles. Our subscribers even return their vases each month—closing the loop with us.
Each “flower drop” is one-of-a-kind: designed with intention, guided by intuition, and crafted using whatever the season gives us. They're whimsical, moody, joyful, dramatic—but never cookie-cutter. We don’t have a storefront, just a home and the motivation to surprise and delight.
We’re also proudly queer and woman-owned, ADHD-powered, and deeply rooted in community. Moss Agate supports the LGBTQIA+ community, BIPOC, Indigenous and marginalized voices, small businesses, and the makers who make Portland the beautiful and weird city that it is.
We believe good design shouldn’t cost the planet—and that art belongs everywhere, even in a vase on your desk.
